Between the cost of baggage fees, the insecurity of making it through TSA, and all of the other hassles that come along with air travel, is it any wonder that more and more people are choosing to hit the road instead?

There are plenty of reasons to avoid flying if you can. For one, it’s become increasingly expensive to fly, especially if you’re not strategic about when and how you book your tickets. There are also more fees associated with flying, from baggage fees to seat selection fees, which can add up quickly. And then there’s the actual flying experience, which has become increasingly cramped and uncomfortable as airlines try to squeeze more passengers onto each flight.

When you decide to travel via car, you have a lot more space. You can pack as much as you can fit in the car. You can take your pets and as many people as you can fit. In fact, you can leave when you like, travel as long as you want, and take as many breaks as you desire.

They joy of experiencing new places

There’s something special about exploring new places. It’s a chance to see the world through different eyes, learn about new cultures, and to create memories that will last a lifetime. Travel can be an amazing experience, one that opens your mind and changes your perspective. Whether you’re traveling solo or with others, there’s no doubt that hitting the road can be one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do.

One of the best things about exploring new places is that you never quite know what to expect. Every new destination has its own unique culture, history, and customs, and it’s always exciting to learn about them. Even if you’ve done your research before traveling, there’s nothing like experiencing a place for yourself. Seeing the sights, hearing the sounds, and tasting the food of a new destination is an unforgettable experience. And, of course, there’s also the thrill of simply not knowing what’s around the corner.

The ultimate way to see the country

When you fly, your scenery is limited to the airport and what you can see during the flight. While driving offers scenic views and experiences if you prefer. For example, on one recent road trip, we decided to stay the night in a small town in Wyoming. It was a small town located in middle of mountain ranges and great restaurants. We had fun exploring the town, trying restaurants and enjoyed the interesting scenery.

Memories created on the open road

Road trips are the stuff of legend. They’re the perfect way to see America – or any country, for that matter – and they always seem to result in the best stories. Maybe it’s because you’re forced to spend hours in close quarters with your travel companions, bonding over shared experiences. Or maybe it’s because something about being on the open road makes even the simplest moments seem magical.

Summary

Air travel Is economical for long distances. It would cost far more fuel to drive clear across the United States in a car than to fly nonstop coast-to-coast.

If you have the option to take a road trip instead of flying, it may be worth considering those options. Hitting the open road offers a sense of freedom that you can’t get from flying, and offers a better travel experience than flying.
